 “Art Lives In Our Soul”

"I find watercolor to be a fascinating medium. It’s alive in many ways.
It’s soft, quiet, vulnerable yet can also be hard, loud and tough.
I find while working that my painting communicates with me, guiding me,
letting me know what it needs. I like to experiment with different subjects,
different papers, different marks but always ending with a feeling of life in my work."

I live in the Midwest with
my husband and two dogs...
...creating and painting!
My work is signed R Putbrese
in honor of my parents

Nancy Beard is a native of Wisconsin and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison.  Beard has since continued advanced studies a the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the University of California at Davis.  She has traveled extensively and currently resides in Illinois.  Beard has painted in a variety of media, but her primary interest is watercolor.  Her subject matter shows her personal vision in reference to human experience.  Her paintings show the delicate and bold aspects of the medium.  Her compositions are rigorous, complex and show the true language of paint.  Nancy's work can be seen in both regional and national art exhibitions.  Her paintings are in public and private collections in California, New Jersey, Illinois, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.  Her images have also been collected on an International scale and are in collections in Germany, Japan, Korea, and the United Kingdom.  She is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society.

Bold. Bright. Fun.  Jackie’s art and photography encompasses all of the above.  Raised on Eastern Long Island, she began her professional career in her early teens as an illustrator for New York’s Newsday newspaper. While obtaining a Bachelor’s degree from James Madison University’s School of Art, Jackie concentrated in drawing and painting. During the last 25 years she has used her creativity as a portrait and commercial photographer, costume designer and a painter in both acrylics and watercolors.  Open to the challenge of all projects and mediums, her passion is in illustrative works for children. Clinton shares “I love inspiring young minds to think outside the box. When you surround kids with unexpected use of color and whimsical designs, their imaginations become limitless.”  After extensive travel living around the world with her husband, an Air Force pilot, and four children, the Clinton family is now happy to find their home in Southern IL.

Marilynne has produced numerous series of paintings including the Katy Trail, Santa Fe Trail, Paris, Tahiti, and St. Louis Landmarks. She is always working on a new body of work and experimenting with color. Design and vibrant colors dominate the perception of her compositions. To her, painting requires endless change, experimentation, and variation both in content and technique. Each painting is an effort to explore the subject from a different viewpoint, allowing a personal statement for each work of art.

"Mystery is at the heart of creativity. That, and surprise.“  Julia Cameron.  I love the process of painting. . .and I am constantly amazed when my paintings begin to take on a life of their own. I'm never quite sure what the end result will be. . .and of course, I'm not always pleased. But I do always enjoy the process.  Thank you for looking at my work. Each piece is an original and will come signed.
