Earth friendly uncommonly simple hoops and raw stone jewelry for the urban wanderer.

My work traverses the bold and restless soul the ones who roll down the windows and drive, music over laughter on a journey an adventure to adorn your soul on the road to nowhere like there's no tomorrow...

Earthbound materials - remnant copper, reclaimed silver, semi - precious stones and ephemera hand forged using rudimentary tools. The textured copper hammered on an old railroad tie and a stump of wood - truly handmade studio artisan wares.

I have traveled the blue highways in an old 64 Chevy pick up truck only once breaking down in Rupert Idaho during sugar beet season, needless to say I spent a few days...

Kim Beyer
O'Fallon, IL

Traveling for 26 years with her Air Force husband, Kim learned to adapt and find the beauty where ever they were stationed.  Now retired to O'Fallon, IL, she stays busy with her extended family, church, and volunteer work.  Of her art, Kim says, "My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was only 9.  By using wire, I can design and crochet unique pieces of jewelry.  I especially love to incorporate wood, stone, gems, and pearls to show the natural beauty that God has put into this world."

I'm a self-taught jewelry artist who began with beads and wire wrapping, but I quickly developed a love for working with heavier metal ... especially COPPER. It patinas beautifully and obediently yields to a hammer. My new favorite pastime is finding old hammers at flea markets that will provide awesome textures on my metals. Pure bliss is having a torch in one hand and a hammer in the other!

I live in Illinois with my husband, two growing children and a big tabby cat.  We live in a small town and I love it!  I enjoy gardening, which is where I find most of my inspiration.  I appreciate the colors and the peaceful feeling of nature and I paint items that give those same feelings back.  What makes me happy is when viewers have that same connection to something I’ve painted.  I’m self-taught and have been drawing since childhood, but painting came later for me.  My work has changed from painting with watercolor on paper, to acrylic on canvas and now with porcelain paint on ceramic pendants.  Each piece of my hand painted jewelry begins with a ceramic “canvas”, which is hand made by a talented ceramist.  I paint as much detail as possible and use the smallest brushes I can find!  I have more ideas than I have time and I’m grateful for that, because I look forward to many years of creative and fulfilling work.

I create shapes using clay and hand forged metals, then add natural elements such as pearls or wood.  I also use a torch to apply enamel to copper and to flame paint to create vibrant, colorful finishes.  Ultimately, I apply wire sculpture to most of my creations.  My pieces have an "earthy" quality and my objective is to offer soft beauty to women in an unusual, yet comfortably wearable piece of art.  You will find realism, whimsy and sometimes very unusual pieces in my collections, so whatever mood you are in, indulge yourself. We are all one of a kind and should be able to select our jewelry as an expression of our own individuality!!!
