Mixed Media Art Class - Paint a Cupcake or Whimsical Bird Saturday, May 10 from 10:30-11:30 am $25 In this class, taught by resident artist Alicia Scolarici, you will learn to paint a cupcake or a whimsical bird. All supplies are included and you will take home a completed 4x6” canvas of your own art. Older clothing suggested. Open to all ages. Scolarici has successfully exhibited her works in solo shows locally at the Abbey (Belleville), Café Dolce fare Niente (O’Fallon), Borders Bookstore, Missouri Athletic Club of St Louis, the Louvre in O’Fallon, and internationally at a venue in Mildenhall, England. She was a presenting artist at the St James Court Art Show in Louisville KY, the nation's number one rated art venue. Soap Making Class - Make Your Own Soap Saturday, May 17 from 1:30 - 3:30 pm or Sunday, May 25 from 1:30 - 3:30 pm $30 Learn the art of soap making and make 2 premium bars of soap to take home in this class taught by resident artist, Becky Ripplemeyer of Heirloom Soaps. Becky has been making natural soaps for 15 years. In this basic soap class, Becky will share her knowledge, so that you can make your very own homemade soap created entirely from scratch, with food-grade vegetable oils. All materials are included and you will take home two of your very own handmade soaps. Older clothing or an apron suggested. Heirloom Soaps are handmade in the studio at the Tiadaghton House. Space is limited and spots will go quickly! Word Art Painting Sunday, May 18 from 1:00 – 3:30 pm $25 Design and create a painting using word art with Jacqueline Wind Clinton. In this class, you will focus on word choice, symbolism, design concepts, colors and painting techniques. Each student will take home a completed 6x6” acrylic painting on canvas. The completed art makes a thoughtful gift or ideal bedroom décor. All supplies are included. Ages 8+. Older clothing suggested. Jackie has taught classes to pre-school students through adults over the last 20 years. With every class she hopes to bring out your inner artist through fun projects and positive experiences. Bring a Flower to Life Saturday, May 31 from 10:30 – 11:30 am $25 Combine fabric, paper, and paint to make this adorable 3D flower in the style of Alicia Scolarici. Alicia will give you step-by-step instructions on how to use this 3D technique. All supplies are included and you will take home a completed 3D flower on a 4x6” canvas. Open to all ages. Initial Paintings Sunday, June 8 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm $35 The popular designing technique using initials as art comes to life in this class taught by Jacqueline Wind Clinton. Jackie will teach you how to use layout, design concepts, color choices, and painting techniques to create this painting that is perfect for a nursery, child’s room or a gift for a teen.
